Meet Our Pastor

     Pastor Ryan was born into a Christian home; his father was involved in ministry in some way for all Ryan’s growing-up years.  His family spent most of his childhood in Iowa and Ohio.  Ryan was homeschooled and attended a Christian school in his junior high/high school years, graduating from Grace Baptist School in Delaware, Ohio. 

     Ryan made a profession of faith as a very young child, but as he spent multiple services every week sitting under the preaching of the gospel, he began to experience deep conviction about his need for salvation.  However, he continued to reject the calling of the Holy Spirit justifying himself in his mind because of the “good works” he was doing.  This battle with the Holy Spirit continued into the first semester of Bible college.  Following the request of his father, Ryan attended Harvest Baptist Bible College to prepare for a life of ministry even though he was still resisting the pull of the Holy Spirit.  Finally, near the end of the first semester of his freshman year, after a chapel service, he surrendered to the calling of the Spirit and was saved by the grace of God.  Following his salvation, he was baptized.  Continuing his studies at Harvest, Ryan received valuable training for ministry, graduating in 2012. 

     It was also at college that Ryan met his wife, Grace.  They were married following his graduation from college.  In the final semester of college, the Lord began working in his heart to come to Nebraska to assist Grace’s father in the ministry.  For over ten years, Ryan and Grace worked alongside her father, Tim Zechman, assisting in a number of different roles at Logan Valley Baptist Church, while also taking part in helping a few other ministries in the area.  In the summer of 2022, God began working in Ryan and Grace’s hearts about the need for a gospel preaching, Baptist church in Scribner.  In following the Lord’s leading, and with the blessing of Pastor Zechman and Logan Valley Baptist Church, they began a Bible study in their home in January of 2023 which was the beginning of Gospel Light Baptist Church.

     Grace grew up in a Christian home, involved in ministry her whole life.  She was saved at the age of seven and surrendered to God's will for her life at the age of twelve.  She attended a Christian high school, where God confirmed in her heart a desire to be involved in full-time ministry.  After high school, God led her to attend Harvest Baptist Bible College to train for the ministry.
